Netgear installation assistant is a fantastic web-based tool that assists in setting up the Netgear product. For this, you need to have a computer or a laptop connected to a Netgear router or extender. If you don’t know how to download the Netgear Installation Assistant, then don’t panic! Instructions to Connect Netgear Installation Assistant to Setup Extender


The process to set up the Netgear extender through the Netgear installation assistant is simple. Follow the below steps to set up the extender by using the Netgear Installation Assistant:

Step 1: The first step is to plug the Netgear range extender into the power socket and turn it on.

Step 2: After that, wait for some time until the power LED light turns to solid green light.

Step 3: Thereafter, connect your computer or smartphone with the extender’s network, either wired or wireless.

Step 4: Once you are connected with the extender’s network, launch the internet browser of your choice.

Step 5: Enter mywifiext.net or mywifiext.com in the internet browser's address bar. If this web address does not work for you, you can use the IP address 192.168.1.250.

Step 6: Now, you will be redirected to a new page where you will be asked for a “new extender setup.”

Step 7: Tap on New Extender Setup and enter all the required details in the respective fields on the Netgear Extender Setup page. Click on the Next button to proceed further.

Step 8: On the following screen, you will be provided the list of all the available list of wireless network names. Search for the main home wireless router network name or the SSID you want to extend. Once you find it, click on it.

Step 9: Now, you will be asked to enter the wireless network name password. Enter the correct wireless password in the password field. Tap on the Next button.

Step 10: Connect any wireless-enabled device to the new Netgear extender wireless network name or SSID.

Note: Enter the same password as your selected router wireless network during the Netgear Extender setup process.

Step 11: When you are connected to the extender and confirm that the devices are connected properly with the Netgear WiFi Range Extender and the internet is working, tap on the Next button to go ahead.

Step 12: A pop-up message displayed on the screen saying Netgear Extender is connected and ready to work.

Step 13: Tap on the Next button to go-ahead to the registration page.

Step 14: Complete all the required fields and then tap on the Finish button to complete the Netgear Extender Setup process.
